Cranbrook

Far from ordinary

These courses bear the name of PGA champion Gary Player

For the first time in Canadian history, PGA legend Gary Player will sculpt two distinguished golf courses—the Black Knight and Gary Player Signature Golf Course—within the world-class resort lifestyle community of Wildstone.

Groundbreaking: Gary Player is designing and endorsing his first Canadian golf course, in association with Havaday Developments' Wildstone resort. The vision for Wildstone is to create two 18-hole championship courses, each measuring over 7,000 yards.

Wildstone is located near the city of Cranbrook, B.C., in the heart of the Kootenays—an area recently dubbed the "crown of the continent" by National Geographic magazine thanks to its awe-inspiring vistas and the title as the sunniest place in B.C.

The stunning natural beauty of the landscape coupled with the vision of Player Real Estate, provided the development team a wonderful opportunity. The Black Knight and Gary Player Signature Golf Courses at Wildstone will be the unforgettable centrepieces to this unique 900-acre resort lifestyle community. Each course will measure over 7,200 yards and create unparalleled tournament and event opportunities.

Wildstone marks the first time in history Gary Player has officially lent his name and title to a golf course other than his world famous, Gary Player Country Club in South Africa. Now, Player will endow Wildstone’s first course with the Black Knight title.

With construction to be completed in fall of 2008 and open to the public in spring 2009, the Black Knight Course at Wildstone will provide an exclusive golfing experience unlike anything else in the world.

“I’ve seen many a spectacular sight in my over 50 years as a golf professional. But it’s the sight of those magnificent Canadian Rocky Mountains that truly takes my breath away,” said Player. “Wildstone unquestionably has some of the most impressive scenery on the planet. Anyone who visits or lives here is going to be in a little piece of paradise. Come join us…"
